What does this work involve? A bookkeeper is a person who records the day-to-day financial transactions of an organization. They are usually responsible for writing the day to day purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. They are responsible for ensuring all transactions are recorded in the correct book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger. A bookkeeper is different from an accountant who produces reports from the financial transactions recorded by the bookkeeper.
