About the Certificate III in Community Services

The Certificate III in Community Services course is a broad-based program with focus on either community services or community development work. It will prepare you for community work in a range of services for individuals and groups and it involves direct contact with clients; identifying their needs and referring appropriate services and support.

It will teach you the broad range of knowledge and skills involved in providing day to day support for clients in community settings.

Entry Requirements

Participants in the Certificate III in Community Services should hold at least a NSW School Certificate or equivalent.

Traineeship
If you have been in full-time employment for 3 months or part-time employment for 12 months with the same employer, you may be eligible to complete this course as a government funded trainee.
Work Experience
Work experience is not mandatory. If you wish to complete the assessments that relate to workplace tasks as part of work experience, you will need to organise this yourself. Alternatively, your trainer may conduct these assessments by creating a simulated workplace environment for you.

Where work experience is a mandatory part of a specific program, the College will arrange work placements with you. Please note that work placements are subject to Police Checks, which we will conduct for you at a standard fee.
Recognition Assessment Do you have qualifications and/or life experiences related to the course content? If so, you may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) which could reduce your study load. Contact us for an application form.
