At National College, we will make the choice as easy as possible for you.
This is how easy it is to join our eLearning program:
1. Choose the course you are interested in.
If you're not sure which qualification best suits you, contact us for a one-on-one discussion.
2. Send us an enquiry with the name of the qualification.
3. One of our training coordinators will contact you within 48 hours to discuss the program.
4. We enrol you in the course.
5. You receive an email with your user name, password and login url.
6. You log in to the online course management system…and commence your studies.
7. If you have any problems, a no-charge telephone technical support number is provided.
It's as easy as that! The instructions are simple and easy to follow. The program tells you what you need to read, what your assessments tasks are, what you will need for a successful completion, and how you can submit them. Log in anywhere in the world, at anytime where you have access to the Internet.
Online or Distance - what's the difference?
Some learners prefer to study via 'Distance' rather than online.
What is the difference? Online learning is when training is delivered using a computer and the Internet. Course materials, reading and assessment tasks are all completed online via a course management system.
Distance learning, on the other hand, is where we mail you the course materials in hard copy. You complete the reading and assessment tasks using pen and paper and mail them back to us. It's your choice. All of our courses are offered online but if you prefer to study via Distance, we will arrange for the course materials to be sent to you...wherever you are in the world.
The same qualification as a classroom-based course
Yes, the qualification you receive when you study online is exactly the same you will receive if you were to study at any campus or in any classroom.
What's different about studying online? Are you ready to make the commitment?
These are only guidelines though - we understand that everyone’s timing is different so please talk to us about flexible options that will meet your personal circumstances.
You already know about the benefits of studying online - your pace, your place, your own time...but what do you really need to know about studying in this mode?
Many other training organisations will tell you about bonuses but fail to highlight the challenges of studying online. At National College Australia, our aim is that you walk away with a qualification but we also want to make sure that you understand what your studies will entail. An online program is not like studying in a classroom where you have the trainer and fellow participants to engage, entertain and interact with. We will provide you with support from start to finish but you must have the commitment and discipline needed to study in this autonomous learning environment.
Before you start, ask yourself:
- When would be the best times for me to study and where?
- Can I guarantee that these times will be uninterrupted by family, friends, or work needs?
- Do I have the commitment to stick to these study times without giving up a session unless I really have to?
- How much time am I able to put aside to complete this qualification? How many months, years?
- If I don’t complete this course now, what will be different in a year’s time, in two year’s time?
A full course or a unit?
You can complete a full qualification or just study one unit at a time.
Why choose National College for your online course?
The three things that make us different in the delivery of online learning.
1. You'll love our online program
Ask other training organisations for a peak at their online programs and see the difference.
We know that one of the greatest barriers people face with online learning is the difficulty in working their way around the content. We've cut out so many of the 'layers' to bring you an online program that is easy to use with straightforward, simple instructions that you will understand and follow with ease, and course content that is clear, concise and valid.
2. Our support
Ask your training provider what their policy is on non-performance?
Your successful completion is just as important to us as your enrolment. Unlike many other training organisations, we remain in touch with you right up until the end.
Each online learner is assigned a Trainer/Assessor who will contact you immediately after your enrolment to welcome you into the Program. Your trainer will facilitate the work and monitor your progress as you work through each unit. If we notice you falling behind, the Student Services team will be in touch to ensure you're on target.
If you're part of a funded program, it is even more important that you follow a strict timetable as these courses have deadline completion dates by which your funding entitlement may run out.
3. Our completion rates
Ask your RTO for their completion rates in the last 12 months.
Last year, over 90% of our distance learners completed their qualification. We're thrilled at such a high success rate but it is only a reflection of the work we do to ensure you gain the best possible learning experience.
