The term ‘traineeship’ usually refers to a shorter, and non-trade related training program that is often conducted in conjunction with on-the-job training. It is slightly different from the term ‘apprenticeship’, which usually applies to a trade qualification involving several years of work and study.
If you have been in full-time employment for 3 months or part-time employment for 12 months with the same employer, you may be eligible to complete a traineeship.

Option 3: Centrelink’s Education Entry Payment
You may be eligible for up to $1158 OFF the full course fee if:
· you are receiving one of the following Centrelink payments:
· Newstart Allowance
· Parenting Payment Partnered
· Partner Allowance
· Widow Allowance
· Youth Allowance
· Carer Payment (adult or child)
· Disability Support Pension
· Parenting Payment Single
· Special Benefit
· Widow B Pension
· Wife Pension
· you have commenced or intend to commence an approved course
· you have not received Education Entry Payment in the last 12 months
· you have been receiving an income support payment for at least 4 weeks
