Why This Course?
This course is designed for employment opportunities in leisure and health programming for the aged care sector. It is generally considered as an entry level qualification and is ideal for those interested in a formal qualification to get you started in career in Diversional Therapy.
The Certificate IV in Leisure and Health (CHC43415) is made up of 17 units: 10 core units and 7 elective units. It is delivered in the 5 Skills Groups below.

How We Support You
We genuinely care about our students and pride ourselves on maintaining a positive and supportive learning environment. We’ll help you in any way we can during your time at National College Australia, whether you have a quick question or need some extra support.
If you’ve never studied before, or it’s been a few years since you completed a qualification, starting a new course can be daunting. We want to make it as easy and comfortable for you as possible, which is why we offer one-on-one support at every stage of your journey, from start to end.
Unlike many other registered training organisations, we don’t have different educators marking different subjects. You’ll have one educator from start to finish. They’ll be in regular contact with you via phone and email throughout your course, to monitor your progress and give you the support you need.
We’ll also track your performance to make sure you don’t fall behind. If we notice that you haven’t logged on in a while, we’ll get in touch to see if everything is ok and help you resolve any issues that are making it difficult to complete your course.
Our goal is for you to walk away with a nationally recognised qualification, no matter what stands in your way. So if you have any issues with administration, payments, certification or anything else that may come up during your studies, our team is here to help.
Our work placement program gives you the skills and confidence you need to be job ready. We’ll give you the opportunity to find suitable employers in your local area but if you get stuck, we’ll help you find one.
How We Deliver The Course
We give you complete control over your study plan, so you can learn when and where it suits you.
The reading material and assessment questions are accessed through our online learning portal., which is simple to use and easy to understand.
For those who prefer hard copy books, we can post the reading material to you in print version. The assessment evidence will still need to be submitted through the online portal and there will be an additional cost.

How You're Assessed
There are no tests or exams. There are a combination of assessment methods to determine whether you have the required knowledge and skills to do the job. Each Skills Group is made up of a mix of the following assessment activities:
- Written Questions
- Observation of practical skills
- Third party reports
- Supplementary evidence from the workplace
This course should take you a maximum of 12 months to complete. You’ll need to spend about 12 hours a week on your studies. Everyone studies at a different pace and the time it takes you to finish the course will depend on how much you already know and how much experience you have.
This course does not have any formal entry requirements but it is important that you:
• have access to the internet and a computer. You’ll also need some basic computer skills, such as using Microsoft Word documents, using the Internet, downloading and uploading documents, using a digital camera, downloading & saving videos, participating in online discussions, and compressing files
• have a level of fitness that will allow you to undertake physical tasks involved in day to day work
• have language, literacy and numeracy skills required to study at this level
Recognition of Prior Learning
We believe you should get credit for the skills and knowledge you’ve gained from previous qualifications, work and life experience. After all, why should you spend time and money learning something you already know?
RPL is an process where you submit a range of work/life evidence that shows you’ve already got the knowledge and skills. A credit transfer is where you already hold the exact same unit of competency from a previous qualification.

When you successfully complete this course, you’ll receive a CHC43415 Certificate IV in Leisure and Health.
Choose to pay the full course fee upfront and you can receive a 20% discount off the full fee. If you’d prefer to pay in instalments, we’ll sign you up for a weekly or fortnightly payment plan for the life of the course. You could even be eligible for some government funding.

Recognition of Prior Learning Fees
*The Recognition of Prior Learning Application Fee is a non-refundable fee. It is to cover the cost of assessing an application to determine whether or not it is ready for RPL. If an application is deemed ready for recognition, this fee will be deducted off the total amount charged for the RPL application.
Other Fees and Charges

|This is a non-refundable fee charged for pre-assessment provided to determine whether or not you ready to apply for RPL.||$99|
|You have a 10-day cooling-off period to change you mind. The cooling-off period starts from the date of enrolment which is the date the confirmation of enrolment email is sent to you. If you change your mind within the first 10 calendar days, you will be entitled to a refund or to terminate your payment plan. A cancellation fee will be charged. |
If you change your mind after the 11th calendar day, a no-refund policy applies which means:
• if you paid upfront, we cannot issue you with a refund for any part of the payment
• if you signed up for a payment plan, the payment plan will not be cancelled and direct debit payments will continue to be taken
• if you paid the $150 deposit and you change your mind before the confirmation of enrolment email is sent to you, the deposit is non-refundable
|Additional Course Resources|
|You will be given the learning and assessment resources required to successfully complete your course through NCA's online learning portal. We can post the reading resources to you if you prefer to use printed books but you will still need to complete the assessment tasks online. |
Additional course resources will cost about $300 - $450 extra, depending on your course. The charge includes postage and handling and can be added to a payment plan at the point of enrolment. It cannot be added after enrolment.

|Course Extension Fee|
|Your course has a set duration period that starts from the date of enrolment, which is the dates we send you the confirmation of enrolment email. You are required to complete the course within this time period. If you cannot complete it because of other commitments, you can apply for an extension for up to 12 months. If the extension is granted, a course extension fee will be charged.||$295|
|This fee is charged if we issue you with a certificate or a Statement of Attainment as a direct upgrade to an equivalent qualification. This only applies to an upgrade where the new qualification is deemed equivalent and mapping of competencies is not required. If mapping is required, it will fall under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). |

|Police Clearance Check|
|Some organisations may require a police clearance check for students on work placement. You'll need to take care of this before placement can be approved. Clearance checks can cost between $35 - $45.|
|Certificate Replacement Fee|
|Please keep your certificate in a safe place. But if you lose it and you need a new one printed, we'll have to charge this replacement fee.||$55 (inc. GST)|
