What is Aged Care?

Aged care services provide care and support to older people who are living in residential aged care facilities (also known as nursing homes) or in their own home. It’s an incredibly satisfying career that helps older people stay independent and enjoy a better quality of life, in a place that’s safe and familiar.

Personal Care

You’ll help clients with personal grooming, such as bathing, shaving, toileting, getting dressed and taking medication.

Domestic Assistance

You’ll help clients around the home with things they can’t manage on their own, like cleaning, washing, ironing and preparing meals.

Social Support

You’ll spend time with clients, taking them to social activities in the community and helping them stay in touch with friends and family.

Respite Care

You’ll take care of older people for short periods of time, while their family member or friend takes a break.
